Day 1
Fly to Lukla, Trek to Phakding

Scenic mountain flight to Lukla (2,860m). Begin trekking along the Dudh Koshi River with views of Kusum Kanguru. Descend to Phakding village. Trek: 2-3 hours

Day 2
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
3,443m

Cross suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi, enter Sagarmatha National Park. Steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital. First views of Everest. Trek: 5-6 hours

Day 3
Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Crucial rest day for altitude acclimatization. Optional hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for panoramic mountain views, or visit Sherpa Culture Museum and local markets.

Day 4
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Trek through rhododendron forests with stunning views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Lhotse. Visit famous Tengboche Monastery. Trek: 5-6 hours

Tengboche to Dingboche

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Dingboche to Lobuche

Trek past memorials for climbers at Thukla Pass. Continue along the Khumbu Glacier moraine with views of Pumori and Nuptse. Trek: 5-6 hours

Lobuche to Gorak Shep, Visit EBC

Trek to Gorak Shep, drop bags, then continue to Everest Base Camp alongside Khumbu Glacier. Stand at the foot of the world's highest mountain! Return to Gorak Shep. Trek: 7-8 hours

Day 9
Kala Patthar Sunrise, Descend to Pheriche

Early morning climb to Kala Patthar (5,545m) for spectacular sunrise views over Everest. Descend to Pheriche for overnight. Trek: 6-7 hours

Day 10-11
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

Retrace steps through Tengboche and Phunki Tenga. Descend to Namche Bazaar for overnight rest. Trek: 6-7 hours per day

Day 12
Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Final day of trekking. Descend through Phakding and back to Lukla. Celebrate completion of the trek! Trek: 6-7 hours

Fly to Kathmandu

Difficulty & Fitness Requirements

The Everest Base Camp trek is rated moderate to challenging. The primary difficulty comes from high altitude and sustained daily walking rather than technical terrain.

Physical Fitness

Ability to walk 5-7 hours daily for 12-14 consecutive days with a 5-8kg pack. Regular cardiovascular training recommended 2-3 months prior.

Altitude Challenge

Maximum altitude 5,545m. Proper acclimatization is crucial. We include 2 dedicated rest days. Stay hydrated (3-4L water daily).

Technical Skills

No mountaineering or climbing skills required. Good balance needed for rocky trails and suspension bridges.

Mental Preparation

Mental resilience important for long days and basic accommodation. Positive attitude and flexibility essential.
