The Nubra Valley, originally called Ldumra (the valley of flowers), is a high-altitude cold desert with vegetation. Access to this valley is via the Khardung La pass, one of the wildest motorable roads in the world. This trip combines driving through spectacular landscapes with day hikes to villages, monasteries, and the famous sand dunes of Hunder where you can ride double-humped Bactrian camels.
