Stok Kangri is the perfect introduction to high-altitude mountaineering. The summit day is a test of endurance, involving a glacier crossing and a steep ridge climb, rewarded with views of the Karakoram range, including K2 and the Sasser Kangri massif.

Fly to Leh. Specific acclimatization protocol is followed. Rest is mandatory.
Light walk to Tsemo Gompa. Gear check and briefing in the evening.
Drive to Stok Village. Trek to Chang Ma. Trek: 5km, 4hrs
Trek through a barren landscape with unique rock formations. Trek: 3.5km, 3hrs
Reach the Base Camp. This will be your home for the next few days. Trek: 4km, 3hrs
Acclimatization and training on snow/ice craft. Use of crampons and ice axe.
Start at midnight. Cross glacier, climb the ridge, reach summit at sunrise. Return to Base Camp. Trek: 14km, 12-14hrs
Long descent back to Stok Village and drive to Leh. Celebration dinner.
Fly out of Leh with the summit badge of honor.
